Shar Wikoff

Shar Wikoff started as principal in 2020, but she has been a part of the school for over twenty years: teaching at the school, serving on the school board, and having students at the school.  Shar is married to Craig and has a grown married daughter living in Missoula, a son in college at Northwest Nazarene University, a son at Sandpoint High School and a son at SCS. Northern Idaho has been her home since 1997 although she and her family lived in China for 2 years during this time.

Shar obtained her bachelor’s degree at Northwest Nazarene College and her master’s degree at Concordia University. She has taught in a variety of settings mostly middle school and in an online setting. Previous to taking the principal position, she supported K-12 teachers and administrators as an instructional coach.

Kaycee Lutz

Teacher - 3-year-old room

As a native Californian, Kaycee attended college at Concordia University, Irvine where she met her husband Doug. We have three amazing adult children who are all living in the Pacific North West and though we have pastored churches in various places within the states and Canada, our family has called Sandpoint home since 2002.

There is no where I would rather be than in the daily lives and routines of my preschoolers and their families. I love Jesus deeply and enjoy teaching his little ones how loved and cherished they are by God and how to maintain curiosity, compassion, and a sense of community in the classroom setting and beyond.

Lauri Pedevilla

Teacher - 4-year-old room

Lauri has been teaching Pre-K at SCS since 2014. Before that, Lauri taught Pre-K for over 25 years in Huntington Beach, CA. She loves working with children and she knows God put her in the perfect spot to continue doing so!

Laurie's favorite part of teaching is seeing your child's growth spiritually, socially, academically and mentally during this very important year of their development.  Getting them all ready for Kindergarten is her goal!

Carmen Anderson

My name is Carmen Anderson. I am new to the SCS family and am so happy to be here!

My family has lived in Sandpoint for the last 7 years. In the spring of 2021, I graduated from Eastern Washington University. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-8) with an endorsement of Literacy, Reading, and Writing. Two months after graduating, I married Josh, my wonderful husband and best friend. Josh works at Ramey Construction here in Sandpoint as a carpenter. We have two fur babies. Cedar, our large german shepherd / black lab and Pookah, our small munchkin cat.

My passion has always been working with children and helping them reach their goals. It is such a blessing and a dream come true to be part of a faith based learning community where God is at the center. I am so excited to be starting my teaching career in kindergarten here at Sandpoint Christian.

Jenny Pierce

Jenny Pierce and her husband have been teaching at SCS since 2010.  Since graduating from Pensacola Christian College with a master's degree in education, Jenny has completed over twenty-five year of teaching.

Her favorite aspect of teaching young children is their natural love for learning about God and His creation.  Also, she loves to see the "light bulb" moment when students learn to read and fall in love with a good book.

2nd Grade

Caitlyn Dudley

My name is Caitlyn Dudley and I started teaching for SCS in 2021. Before teaching at SCS, I attended Whitworth University and graduated in 2020 with my B.A in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading and English Language Learners. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Grand Canyon University.

I love many aspects of teaching but my favorite thing is watching student's grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally throughout the year.

3rd Grade

Kelly Osborn

Hi I am Kelly Osborn. I received my teaching degree from St. Mary’s University in Calgary, Alberta with a focus on elementary education. There I taught for 1 year in the public school system in Calgary.  I have been teaching here in Sandpoint since 2015 as the kindergarten teacher at SCS, but now it’s time for a new chapter, so YEAH FOR 3RD GRADE!!!

Prior to teaching, I was a missionary with The Christian and Missionary Alliance for 8 years in Quebec, Canada, part of my heart is still there. While doing mission work, some of the things I did were; lots of kids ministry including camps and Sunday school; one on one mentoring; started up a Crisis Pregnancy center; young adult Bible studies & retreats; as well as worked alongside church leadership to help train, support and encourage.

Many life events eventually led me to Idaho where I remarried my current husband in 2014. Darren and I have a blended family with 3 adult children and 1 teenager :) We are also beginning a new chapter at home since Darren has recently retired from a 25 year career in law enforcement.

I am super excited for this upcoming school year and look forward to partnering with you as we navigate grade 3 together.  It truly is a privilege for me to journey with you and your children as I have a deep passion for teaching children about Jesus and preparing them to be successful for fourth grade.

Doug Pierce

Greetings! My name is Doug Pierce, and I was born in the Ozarks, and again I have found a home in the mountains. I was raised in a Christian home, and I have had the privilege of being a Christian for many years. My dad is one of the godliest people I know. I seek to emulate his love for God and others. He is a source of great spiritual strength for me. He has helped me love my heavenly Father, and I hope to please Him in all I do.

I have four outstanding children! Claire was recently married and is teaching at a charter school in Colorado Springs. Garrett recently graduated from College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, MO. He is currently involved in an internship in Washington, D.C. Chloe works at Advocate Insurance here in town, and we love seeing her often. Mallory is a sophomore at IDVA and enjoys playing violin, house-sitting, tutoring, and reading.

I have spent most of my life in Texas and Oklahoma. I am an avid Oklahoma Sooners football fan. I got my undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Pensacola Christian College, where I met my wife, Jenny. We both teach at SCS (she teaches 1st grade). I am beginning my twentieth year of teaching. I am passionate about the art/science of teaching and the spiritual growth of my students. I enjoy reading classical literature, attending sporting events, exercising, and traveling. My desire is to live my life story within the parameters of God’s story, His-story.

I am so excited about teaching 5th and 6th grade students! My primary goal is to point students to Jesus Christ throughout the school day- and beyond! I love to learn, and I think learning ought to be fun. In my class, we spend about 2/3 of the school day in our desks and 1/3 of the school day doing other things, whether it be studying in groups, playing games, searching for info on the internet, doing science activities, re-enacting historical events, etc. I am serious about learning, but I believe we can have fun while we do so. We will strive for academic excellence in every academic subject we study. Thank you for entrusting me with your students. It is a privilege to teach here at SCS.

7th & 8th Grade

Karen Foster

Karen was born and raised in Southern California, the youngest of six children. She received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work, with a minor in Music, from Whitter college in Whittier, California.  She received her Master's degree in Social Work from Cal State Long Beach, but found she has a true affinity for teaching, so she went back to school to obtain her California teaching credential.  Karen taught at a small high school in Susanville for nine years before the Lord led her family to move to Sandpoint. She is a mother and grandmother who wishes her family lived closer so she could see them more often!

Karen loves teaching at SCS and is very excited to continue teaching 7th and 8th grades.  Her goal is to make the year educational, yet still enjoyable as the students learn and grow in Christ.
