Having been raised in Christian schools since kindergarten, it is no wonder that I have a passion for this ministry. Whether it was in a one-room schoolhouse on the Colorado prairie or a multi-building facility in Florida, there has always been a focus on living God’s way as a testimony and influence on the world around us. As I moved into college to begin my formal study to become an educator, I realized just how intentional my teachers had been to focus their teaching centered from the Bible rather than the more humanistic views of the world around me. It is our goal here at Sandpoint Christian School to be a discipleship school. Our focus is to raise the leaders of tomorrow to make decisions within the framework of a Biblical worldview. It is our firm belief that there really is an absolute truth that we can rely on and that truth can be found in the Bible.

While a Biblical worldview is important, we must also value a quality education that will give our students a strong foundation to compete and excel in the high school environment and on into the business world. Our teachers are committed to holding this high standard and to continuing their education in order to keep their credentials current. Along with a strong core curriculum we also provide elective courses intended to enhance and strengthen the student’s skill. We have committed to participating in the STAR program facilitated through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). ACSI has worked hard to develop a reputation of quality Christian education and provides a high level of support for Christian schools around the world.

As to my own background, I have both an undergrad and graduate degree in education from Clearwater Christian College and Trinity Baptist College respectively. I have taught for fifteen years at various levels from first grade through twelfth. For the past ten years, I have divided my time between various levels of educational administration and classroom teaching. My goal is to pursue doctoral studies in the near future and to facilitate growth here at Sandpoint Christian as we seek to become a premier school in the North Idaho area.
