SCS Vision

Our students will be lifelong learners who are critical thinkers: making decisions based on a Biblical worldview, developing the fruits of faith, and impacting their world for Christ.

Our Mission

The mission of SCS is to educate children – mind, body and spirit for the honor and glory of Jesus Christ.

Our History

Sandpoint Community Christian School (our original name) has been a wonderful testimony of God’s love and provision from the beginning. In May 1996, then Pastor Jim Oakley (of Sandpoint Church of the Nazarene) was approached concerning the opening of a Christian school to be located in this building.

After much prayer and thought the board members of the Nazarene Church agreed and plans began to open the school in the fall. A school board made up of members of the Sandpoint Nazarene Church, local businessmen and interested parents was formed to write by-laws, hire teachers, and order curriculum.

SCS opened in September of 1996 with 18 students from 2nd-6th grade and two teachers. The school grew every year not only in students and staff, but in programs and faith as God provided abundantly in all areas.

In 2004 an 8,000 sq. ft. education wing was constructed alongside the church and future plans include another building designed to hold both Jr. and Sr. High school students.

As of November of 2015, we serve 91 students from 3 years old up to 8th grade.
